Date: 16/06/2008
A Smith Institute and Centre for Cities launch event
Monday 16 June 2008, 12.30-14.00
Keynote Speech by Trevor Beattie, Head of the Homes and Communities Agency Set Up Team followed by panel discussion and audience Q&A
Trevor Beattie of the Homes and Communities Agency will give a key note address. This will be followed by responses from an expert panel, including Lord Richard Best OBE (vice-chair, All Party Urban Development Group), Jackie Sadek (Head of Regeneration, CB Richard Ellis) and Mark Allan (Chief Executive, UNITE Group). The event will be chaired by Dermot Finch, Director of the Centre for Cities, with an introduction by Peter Bill, Editor of Estates Gazette.
What does the future hold for the private rented sector? What can be done to improve the quality of existing stock? Is home ownership always best? How can we bring more, and better quality, rented homes onto the market in a potential downturn?
The Smith Institute and the Centre for Cities will launch a monograph on the future of the private rented sector at the event. This event will be an opportunity to debate how these challenges should be addressed with expert speakers from the public and private sectors.
Spaces at this event are limited, so do please RSVP as soon as possible to rsvp@centreforcities.org or 0207 803 4309.
Sponsored by UNITE Group plc.
