With the latest labour market statistics showing unemployment among 18-24 year olds at a 16-year high of 726,000 - a rate of 17.3 per cent, there has never been a stronger need to find practical solutions to address worklessness in this age-group.

Regeneration & Renewal's inaugural youth unemployment conference will bring together key players shaping policy and delivering services (and young people themselves), to discuss the current challenges in the labour market and in working with this group.

See the conference website for further information.

Dermot Finch, Chief Executive of Centre for Cities, will chair this event. Centre for Cities published a report on youth unemployment in July 2009, available to download at www.centreforcities.org/youthunemployment
